WHERE TO NEXT?

It must be strange reading about it from the outside…

Me just vibing out in the middle of nowhere England, beebopping about on the wrong side of the road.

Nathan started his exams on Friday— a six-week-long haul of overnight hotel stays, drives to different cities, and last minute cramming.

He’s stressed enough for the both of us, so I’ve taken on the role of steady support, which is much easier now that I’m feeling more confident in my new job and feeling more autonomous in general.

I go on walks through the farmland in Steeple on my own, my phone plan is finally working, and taking the bus into town is on my independence bucket list.

I’m enjoying it so much, and now that Nathan’s hard work is finally coming to fruition with these exams, it feels like the beginning of the end of a beginning we’ve been obsessing over for a year. (Try and wrap your head around that one.)

We’re honing in on what our next step will be come July (as my mom says, I like to plan way out in advance) and I’m so excited to share it with you all.

Sending a virtual bouquet to all my lovely mamas in the US. Happy Mother’s Day! ♡

I’m waiting until we know for sure, because once I say a place y’all are going to jump on it like the last morsel of my fading sanity. Can’t say I blame you.

I’m genuinely interested in who’s engaged in these posts, and since being off social media I’m constantly craving the communication of decades ago, where lots of people had different personal blogs and got to hear all about their friends’ lives instead of random curated pictures without context.

Those of you that respond through email with little updates on your own life fill me with such joy, as do the comments below.

Maybe I’m crazy,

but this blog has made me feel connected to you (my community) in a way Facebook and Instagram haven’t in a lonnnng time.

I could have chosen to create a very large WhatsApp community with all y’all in it (okay, it wouldn’t be that large). But this method is much cuter and more expensive, so naturally it’s the route I’ve taken.

I’d love to see who’s reading, so drop a comment below with your guess as to which country we’re off to next! If you guess correctly, I’ll send you a surprise from Steeple Bumpstead ;)

For now, I’m happy and healthy, and I hope you are too.

Lau x
